A Woman is a ‘Mother of Mankind’ despite holding such an important and
unquestionable position, role of women has been defined by men over millennia.
In vedas women held an important place in ancient culture. No ritual was ever
complete without the presence of a woman by her man’s side.
Previously, when man took on the role of bread earner and women took the natural
role of a nurturer, man started believing that his role was superior to that of the
women as without him there would be no food at table. Woman’s role was taken as
for granted since ages. But women at home and society in general is a different cup
of Tea. In childhood a female be subject to her father, in youth to her husband,
when her lord is dead to her sons; a woman must never be independent. How did
this “battle of sexes’ begin?
We are in 21st Century; marked by ‘Globalization’, rise of global economy and so
on… where Asian countries are now civilized/urbanized and they are in the race of
developing countries; their quality of living is improving day by day, but what
about a ‘women’. In Asia woman is bound by so called, traditions, ethics and laws.
She is bound to family values and so called ‘Purushpradhan Sanskriti’ (male driven
society), due to this her life has come to a standstill and she is stuck in boundaries
made by society. And because of these norms and conditions she is unable to fly;
she has no freedom of living her own life in her own way….
